Henagar Drive-In Theatre has announced that they will not be showing Disney’s upcoming Fantasy adventure film, “Beauty and the Beast” (2017) due to a character having a ‘Gay moment’ in the $160 million production.

It is with great sorrow that I have to tell our customers that we will not be showing ‘Beauty and the Beast,’” states the message posted on the theater’s Facebook page.

“When companies continually force their views on us we need to take a stand. We all make choices and I am making mine. For those that do not know Beauty and the Beast is ‘premiering’ their first homosexual character. The producer also says at the end of the movie ‘there will be a surprise for same-sex couples.'”

After a huge backlash on Facebook as well as mainstream media coverage from WHNT 19 News and national coverage from CNN, the theater removed the posting Friday evening however, JRL has it here for you to read for yourself.

JRL CHARTS’ attempts to reach a spokesperson for the Henagar Drive-in Theatre in DeKalb County have gone without any response.

When director Bill Condon stated that the character of LeFou who is the supporting co-star and sidekick to the villainous Gaston, brings an “exclusively gay moment” in the big budget film.

In fact Bill Condon told British gay magazine Attitude..“LeFou is somebody who on one day wants to be Gaston and on another day wants to kiss Gaston. He’s confused about what he wants. It’s somebody who’s just realizing that he has these feelings.” said Condom.
