LAS VEGAS, NV — According to James Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment, the four “Avatar” sequels are scheduled to be filmed simultaneously.   The first feature film will be the sequel, “Avatar 2” which will see the return of Sigourney Weaver, Sam Worthington, Stephen Lang and Zoe Saldana, is set for release in December 2018. The second to follow in December 2020, and the third and fourth to follow in 2022 and 2023 respectively.

James Cameron and Jon Landau will produce “Avatar 2 (2018), “Avatar 3 (2020)”, “Avatar 4 (2022)” and “Avatar 5 (2023), through their Lightstorm Entertainment.
